Penn State Master Watershed Steward Program

New Britain Township is partnering with the Penn State Master Watershed Steward Program in Bucks County. The  Master Watershed Steward Program in Bucks County has received over 1000 trees from the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership. Volunteers will plant the trees in Upper, Central, and Lower Bucks County from mid-October to the end of November. One of the planting sites is a New Britain Township-owned open-space parcel in our community located behind Circle Drive in Chalfont. The trees are small container trees with a five-foot tree tube and stake. If you have never planted a tree before, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about the process. The Township is seeking volunteers to help plant donated trees to bring native flora into Township open spaces to restore wildlife habitat.

Anyone interested in helping with this undertaking should email Ken Jones at [email protected], and Ken will provide you with locations, dates, times, and what to bring for scheduled plantings.
