At approximately 9:30AM this morning, a loaded propane truck overturned on Ferry Road near Old Ironhill Road in Doylestown Township. Due to the accident, the truck leaked the propane that it had been carrying.

The emergency management team from Bucks County Hazmat has determined that the propane will need to be burned off. The burn off could take a considerable amount of time. Please avoid the area as it is currently blocked off.

Fortunately, there are few New Britain residents in the affected area. The residents, along with the local school districts have been notified of the situation.

Bucks County Hazmat and Doylestown Township are managing the event with the support of New Britain Township.

Cancellation of September 23rd events

Unfortunately, the Township has made the difficult decision to cancel all events for this Saturday, September 23, 2023 (Fall Festival and Fireworks) due to the forecasted weather.

Our Fireworks Celebration has a rain date of September 30, 2023, with gates opening at 7:00 pm. We hope you are still able to join us.
At this time our Fall Festival does not have a rain date. We are currently exploring other options.

As more decisions are made in this matter, we will keep you informed.

There’s still time to take part in the Tri-Municipal 4th of July Parade!

Bring your lawn chairs and watch your Hometown Community Parade go by, cheer on the marchers, bands, scout troops, decorated floats, antique cars, and fire trucks. Better yet, join us in the parade, sign up for the float contest or drive your classic car.

The parade takes place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 9:30AM, beginning at the Town Center Shopping Center, Business Route 202, New Britain Borough and ending at North Branch Park, 207 Park Avenue, New Britain Township.  The parade route will take approximately an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. https://newbritaintownship.org/information/events/
