The New Britain Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of fulltime police officer. Zoning Officer
New Britain Township, Bucks County, PA, is seeking a highly responsible and organized person to join the Township’s team as the Zoning Officer. This position reports directly to the Township Manager and partners closely with a five (5) member Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, department heads, administrative staff, consultants, attorneys, and the public. The position is responsible for the overall administration and enforcement of the zoning ordinance, the Township’s current and long-range planning functions including land development, property maintenance, zoning, open space preservation, and respective administrative duties. The Zoning Officer is the staff coordinator for the Township Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, and the Environmental Advisory Committee. Work involves technical and administrative duties managing staff dedicated to the planning, zoning, and building codes processes. This position coordinates closely with the appointed Township Engineer.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an increasingly responsible Zoning position in municipal government.

Full-time Public Works Mechanic
New Britain Township has an immediate opening for a full-time Public Works Mechanic. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Interested applicants must have the ability and willingness to work overtime, including mandatory availability for all forecasted winter and severe weather emergency events.
General duties include but are not limited to service, repair and maintenance of all Township owned vehicles, trucks, and equipment. This includes light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel, equipment, and machinery.
Qualified applicants must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B. Applicants must also have a class 7 PA Certified Vehicle Safety Inspector license. Must be able to operate manual transmission and full air brakes (No E, L, or Z restrictions).

New Britain Township has an immediate opening for a full-time Public Works employee. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Duties include maintenance of all Township roadways, facilities, and property. Qualified applicants must be able to operate gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, operate minor/ small equipment, and perform work including but is not limited to roadwork, drainage, pipe replacement, patching, paving, sign installation, weed whacking, trimming, landscaping, painting, and snow removal operations.
Qualified applicants must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brake endorsement.
