Road Closures

New Britain Township’s Public Works Department will be replacing storm sewer pipes along Newville Road, residents can expect delays as a result of this work.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• A weekday road closure is scheduled on Newville Road between Curley Mill Road and New Galena Road on Tuesday, February 7, through Wednesday, February 8, between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Motorists should allow extra time when traveling because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Pact One Construction is Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewer Authority’s contractor working on installing a new pump station and sewer lines along Walters Road. The contractor will install approximately 400’ of sewer lines on along Walters Road, and residents can anticipate intermittent closures on Walters Road as a result of this work.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Thursday, February 2, through Tuesday, February 7, between 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday road closure is scheduled on Walters Road between Crescent Drive and Rue St Andre Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling because backups and delays will occur. Local residents will be able to access their property from either end of Walters Road during the duration of the work. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will begin aerial utility construction next week on New Galena Road in New Britain Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Tuesday, January 31, through Friday, March 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on New Galena Road between Barry Road and Hilltown Pike.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

• Tuesday, January 31, through Friday, March 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Butler Avenue between County Line Road and Schoolhouse Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will be working on their grade crossing near the intersection of Bristol Road & Butler Avenue and will require a complete road closure of Butler Avenue at the railroad crossing starting Friday, December 2, 2022, at 9:00 AM, through Monday, December 5, 2022, at 6:00 PM.

Residents should plan their travel during this period accordingly and address any questions/concerns to SEPTA directly.

Schoolhouse Road is restricted to one lane of traffic near Airy Avenue due to a storm sewer collapse.

Schoolhouse Road will be closed again between Walnut St & Railroad Ave on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, for roadwork from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be NO through traffic while the work is being completed.

Cedar Hill Road will be closed today, July 19, 2020, between Holly Drive & Brookside Court for pipe replacement from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Residents that live in the area will have access to and from their residences during this time.
