Our department is an affiliate member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The mission of the task force is to effectively respond to child pornography and child enticement cases, committed by predators who utilize the internet.
Our department provides tips and advice on how to best protect yourself, home and/or auto from the criminal element. Our crime prevention officer is trained in this area and will gladly speak with you or provide a demonstration. Please call during normal business hours to speak with him.
Our department has joined the CrimeWatch program which can be viewed by the public by going to www.crimewatchpa.com. We are currently building our page on this website at this time. This website has a 'Submit a Tip' button to allow the public to assist law enforcement with identifying perpetrators and solving crimes.
Our department provides routine walk-in checks of township businesses in an effort to deter would-be criminals. Officers will stop at the counter and/or walk the interior to provide a visible police presence. This service shall be provided when available manpower levels allow and on a non-priority basis.
Our department participates in the nationally recognized Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program. This educational program is a collective effort between Police, educators, students, parents and the community to reduce drug abuse and violence among children and youth. Specially trained officers go into the elementary schools to teach students about the dangers of drug & alcohol use/abuse, peer pressure and violence in any form.
Our department provides fingerprinting services for township residents and employees of township businesses only. This service will be available by appointment during normal business hours. There is a $10 charge per finger print card.
Our department participates in Project ChildSafe, an effort to reduce careless and needless accidents involving children and firearms. Upon request and as long as supplies last, we will provide FREE gunlocks to township residents. Requests can be made in person during normal business hours.
Our department participates with New Britain Borough Police in a joint Youth Aid Panel. The Youth Aid Panel is staffed by officers who are specially trained in dealing with juvenile offenders. Officers examine cases, assisted by civilian volunteers, and offer juvenile offenders an alternative to court mandated punishment.
Our department will provide exterior premise checks of your home while you are away from home for an extended period of time. Officers will check for open/broken doors & windows or the presence of unauthorized persons. This service shall be provided when available manpower levels allow and on a non-priority basis.
